$5 Antique store throwaway table salvaged for Kitchen Island!
So - to make a long story as short as possible.... About a year ago my Wife had to have this $5 table at an outside antique store. I thought she was nuts for wanting it. But we loaded it up and brought it home. We painted the legs and top and used it as a craft / catch all table for awhile. Then a few weeks ago we discussed making a small kitchen island out of some old cabinet. Then she suggested "Why not use that old side table?" ... Here's the result of a couple days work between projects. It turned out great and she was able to store some not so frequently used pots and pans and a few other items to clear up some shelf space. And we now have a very nice looking island! Here's the evolution from $5 junk table to what we finished tonight!

Happy New Year!
Wishing everyone a great 2012. Starting off the year with a pretty bad cold. Against Doctors orders (my wonderful wife) I might sneak outside:)to build. We will see what project we will start with for 2012.
