0117 - Custom Gun Cabinet

This one is going to be very exciting! I went back and forth with the customer for weeks as we worked on getting the design just right! Very Texas, very country and very cool design he had in mind. Here's a mini shot of part of the designs without the doors. I'm really excited to get this one started!

Monday 3/5/12 - Picked up the materials and start the base cabinet.
Most of the materials...
Base cabinet sides

Base cabinet frame assembled

Hutch panels done...

Squaring up hutch panels

Back panels in place...

Brought in in for the night, the boards on the top are tacked in just to hold it square for now...

Built the drawer boxes for the base

Installing and aligning the drawer slides

Both drawers are inane aligned - aded the faces and knobs just for fit. Will have to take them off again when it's time to stain.

Added some trim to finish off the top.  Will have to cut the arch for the door tops to come in just under this.

Back at it again the next day. Details and sanding.  Worked on the drawer fit.
Got the doors made. Still need to finish them but at least they're framed and glued.
Started the staining tonight. Also put in the lock... still need to mount the doors and finish the drawers.

Tonight will be up late - mounting the doors, still need to stain the drawer faces, build the door lock receivers, finish the barrel guides and rests, then tomorrow some final touch ups and a coat of sealer. Thursday is D day!
