0112 - 5' x 5' Table

Monday 1/16/12 - Going to pickup materials today. No pictures yet but this will be a beautiful table! I'll post details as we go but here's the basics. It will be a 5' x 5' counter height table. Similar style as our country table on the blog already just bigger! Will be finished with a rustic stain, sealed then the top will get natural wax prior to delivery.

Saturday 1/21/12 - Started cutting the legs today. Looking good so far. Will make more progress tomorrow.

Cutting and arranging the top

Top is cut and matched up. Tomorrow will attach the boards and begin planing...sanding...etc.
Sunday 1/29/12 - Started today with securing the table top then spent 2 or 3 hours sanding the top. Routed the edges, pre-conditioned and stained. Throughout this week will stain the underside of the table top and apply the sealer to the top. It will be read to deliver this coming Saturday! After we brought it into the house tonight we stood there admiring it for awhile. Looks great and I'm sure the owner will get years of enjoyment and use.

Predrilled all holes, glue & screws... back outside now.

Top is on. Routed the edges, looking good now!

sanding... sanding... and more sanding.

Pre-conditioner is drying

Top is stained and wiped dry

close up of the top

Calling it a day, time to take it apart and move it back inside again. This will be the last time - good thing, this table is heavy! Next time I take it outside will be to put it in the truck.
